Ike Turner Jr., Son of Tina and Ike Turner, Dies at 67

Written by on 10/05/2025

Music has lost another piece of its history. Ike Turner Jr., the son of Tina Turner and Ike Turner Sr., has passed away at 67, his cousin Jacquline Bullock confirmed to the New York Post.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my cousin, Ike Turner Jr.,” Bullock said. “Junior was more than a cousin to me, but rather a brother, as we grew up in the same famed household together.”

Born to Ike Sr. and Lorraine Taylor — and later adopted by Tina Turner — Ike Jr. grew up surrounded by music legends. From an early age, he was drawn to instruments, first playing drums before moving to the keys. Eventually, he helped manage Bolic Sound Studios, the recording space founded by his father.

Though Bullock didn’t disclose his cause of death, TMZ reported that Ike Jr. died from kidney failure.

Over his career, Ike Jr. built his own legacy as a Grammy-winning musician and sound engineer, taking home the award for Best Traditional Blues Album in 2007 for his father’s Risin’ With The Blues.

“Tina raised me from the age of 2. She’s the only mother I’ve ever known,” Ike Jr. told The Daily Mail in 2018, recalling a childhood spent largely on the road.

He started touring with his father at just 13 years old and went on to produce his father’s final album — the same one that won them the Grammy. Fans across generations are now celebrating Ike Jr.’s quiet but powerful mark on music — and his connection to one of the most iconic families in rock and soul.
