K. Michelle Reveals She Secretly Married Longtime Love After 10 Years Together

Looks like congratulations are in order for K. Michelle! The R&B-turned-country singer just revealed that she quietly tied the knot with her longtime love, Dr. Kastan Sims, after more than a decade of dating.

During a recent livestream, the Memphis native shared a few rare details about her marriage — confirming that she and her husband, a well-respected dentist from her hometown, officially made it official after years of being together.

“It took my husband a decade,” she said with a laugh. “People might want to crack on me and joke about that, but it took him a decade. I ain’t even gonna play with you like that.”

K. Michelle, 43, admitted that her own personality may have played a role in the long journey to the altar. She described herself as having “masculine energy,” saying she could be “a lot” for most men to handle. The singer also opened up about struggling with whether she truly had what it takes to be a wife.

The pair’s love story goes way back — the two have known each other since their teenage years in Memphis. They went public with their relationship in 2016, and fans have watched them weather ups and downs ever since.

In past interviews, K. Michelle has shared her excitement about building a family with Dr. Sims. Back in 2020, she told Essence that the couple planned to welcome twin girls via surrogate, even considering genetic editing to select their babies’ genders.

“Yes. I’m doing genetic editing,” she revealed at the time. “I knew that I wanted girls and I knew I wanted twins… I just told my fiancé, I said, ‘Looky here, if three take, well, we got three!’”

The couple even appeared on WEtv’s Marriage Bootcamp in 2022, where they opened up about their plans to expand their family and strengthen their relationship.
