“Every part I labored for man so far and to fucking have the battle go like that. I assumed the battle was very shut. I assumed I used to be down two rounds. Not the way in which I wished to win,” Sterling mentioned after the battle. “I simply took the belt off. I used to be making an attempt to proceed being all fucked up. I used to be in unhealthy form. “I used to be in unhealthy form,” Sterling added. “The ref advised me I used to be down. It’s fucking bullshit.”
Previous to Saturday evening, no UFC belt had ever been gained by disqualification. Regardless, it appeared definitive that the knee was an unlawful transfer.
After the battle, Sterling took to Twitter to touch upon the choice and declare that there will likely be a rematch: “Not the way in which I ever need to win a battle. It was shut, aggressive and crammed with motion. I felt the knee was intentional, particularly after the ref introduced I used to be a downed opponent, so I didn’t count on to be hit. Yan is a foul dude! WE WILL DO IT AGAIN!”
