Buffalo Shooting Suspect Pleads Not Guilty To 1st Degree Murder

Payton Gendron, the 18-year-old suspect allegedly responsible for shooting and killing 10 people at a Buffalo supermarket on Saturday, has pleaded not responsible to first-degree homicide costs. Gendron appeared in entrance of a choose at his arraignment in Buffalo Metropolis Court docket simply hours after the capturing.
Gendron, wearing a white paper robe and masks, was surrounded by police presents within the courtroom whereas his court-appointed lawyer spoke on his behalf, in keeping with WKBW-TV.

In what’s being described by police as a “racially motivated hate crime,” Gendron is accused of driving to a grocery store in a predominantly black neighborhood armed with tactical gear and an assault weapon, and murdering 10 folks and injuring three others. 11 of the victims had been black and two had been white.
“This was pure evil. It was a straight-up racially motivated hate crime from any person exterior of our neighborhood, exterior of the Metropolis of Good neighbors … coming into our neighborhood and attempting to inflict that evil upon us,” Erie County Sheriff John Garcia mentioned at a press convention.
Gendron lives roughly 200 miles away close to Binghamton, New York.
The capturing is below investigation by the FBI as “a hate crime and a case of racially-motivated violent extremism,” Particular Agent Stephen Belongia mentioned.
