City of Boston and Partners Celebrate Start of Construction on Harvard and Standish Homes in Dorchester

Written by on 10/30/2025

The new mixed-income development will create 22 income-restricted homeownership opportunities and new neighborhood retail space.

The Mayor’s Office of Housing, in partnership with TLee Development and CoEverything, today announced the start of construction on the Harvard and Standish Homes. This new mixed-income development will create 22 income-restricted homeownership opportunities in Dorchester. The homes are located near public transit, schools, and local businesses so that new homeowners can stay connected to the neighborhood they call home.

“The Harvard and Standish Homes development reflects our commitment to expanding homeownership opportunities across Boston,” said Chief of Housing Sheila Dillon. “Through strong partnerships, the City is helping families and individuals of different incomes purchase stable homes and contribute to their communities.”

The project includes two buildings on Harvard Street and Standish Street. The Harvard Street building is a three-story mixed-use building that will include 16 income-restricted condominiums and ground-floor retail space that contributes to a walkable neighborhood. The homes include a range of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. Some units are designed to be accessible or adaptable. Residents will have use of outdoor patio and green space, along with eight off-street parking spaces.

The Standish Street building will create six additional income-restricted condominiums. The site will include more than 2,000 square feet of green space and three off-street parking spaces so residents have safe and convenient options for cars and outdoor activities.

“Homeownership should be an option for the people who make this neighborhood strong,” said Miriam Gee, Co-Founder of CoEverything. “This project shows how community-driven development and thoughtful public investment can create new opportunities for working families.”

“These homes are a result of strong collaboration between local partners and the City,” said Travis Lee, Founder and Owner of TLee Development. “We are proud to support housing that gives more families the opportunity to stay in Dorchester and plan for the future.”

In total, the development will provide 22 new homes for moderate-income buyers along with neighborhood-serving retail and more than 6,000 square feet of outdoor space for residents. The project is supported through a mix of funding sources, including the Mayor’s Office of Housing, MassHousing, and federal and state tax credits.

The Harvard and Standish Homes development reflects Mayor Wu’s commitment to making Boston a city where all residents can find stable homes and neighborhood resources. To expand affordable housing across the city, Mayor Wu has directed new financial resources into mixed-income housing, commissioned a public land audit to maximize the use of City-owned land, and streamlined approval processes to cut permitting times by more than 25 percent. She has also advanced changes to zoning and development policies, including Linkage and Inclusionary Zoning, that are helping drive the creation of affordable housing by private developers. These efforts, combined with projects like this one, are bringing more affordable housing to neighborhoods across Boston.
