Colbert Hits Trump Where It Hurts In Epic Rant: 'You Didn't Have The Balls'

“The Late Present” host Stephen Colbert referred to as out President Donald Trump for his try and seize energy amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Trump on Monday tweeted that he will get to resolve when it’s time to reopen states which have shuttered nonessential companies to cease the unfold of the virus. And, in a press briefing later within the day, Trump falsely declared his “authority is complete.”
“It’s complete,” he stated. “And the governors know that.”
Governors from each events shortly refuted that.
And Colbert identified a gap within the president’s logic: Trump can’t reopen the states as a result of he’s not the one who shut them down within the first place. Governors did.
Trump has repeatedly put the burden of the response onto governors, insisted the federal authorities “is merely a back-up for state governments” and at one level even referred to as himself a cheerleader.
And Colbert reminded him of all of that in a “Late Present” rant on Monday night time:
Sorry, Chester. Reopening the nation is less than you, since you didn’t have the balls to close the nation down within the first place. You had been the one who stated you had been only a cheerleader. You place your self on the sidelines. Cheerleaders don’t get a Tremendous Bowl trophy. The truth is, they barely receives a commission. They’re simply purported to look good and spell phrases proper, and you may’t do both!
