Cracker Barrel is scrapping its new minimalist logo after facing backlash from customers and conservative commentators, including former President Donald Trump.
The gold shield, text-only design introduced earlier this month was meant to refresh the brand but drew criticism for abandoning the chain’s traditional look and was followed by a stock drop.
The company announced Tuesday it will restore its longtime “Old Timer” logo featuring the man and barrel, calling it central to its identity of “hard work, family, and scratch-cooked food.”
President Donald Trump congratulated Cracker Barrel on the decision, stating on social media that the move would make customers happy again. The company also acknowledged that while it won’t always get everything right the first time, it remains committed to listening to its guests and employees.
