The NFL community is mourning the sudden passing of Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, who has died at the age of 24.
“It is with extreme sadness that the Dallas Cowboys share that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning,” the team said in a statement. “Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family.”
No details have been released about the cause of death.
Kneeland’s passing comes just two days after he scored his first career touchdown — a milestone that now stands as his final on-field moment.
The NFL also issued a statement, saying,
