Grandfather Sentenced For Dropping Daughter From Cruise Ship Deck

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — A grandfather who pleaded responsible to negligent murder within the fall of his younger granddaughter from an 11th-story window of a cruise ship docked in Puerto Rico was sentenced Monday to a few years’ probation, in keeping with justice officers.
Salvatore “Sam” Anello, of Valparaiso, Indiana, had pleaded responsible within the case in October 2020. Protection legal professional Michael Winkleman has stated Anello would serve probation in his dwelling state.
Anello was aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruises’ Freedom of the Seas ship with household in July 2019 when the loss of life occurred. He has stated he didn’t know the window within the kids’s play space was open and that he lifted 18-month-old Chloe Wiegand as much as it so she might knock on the glass as she had finished at her brother’s hockey video games.
The woman’s mother and father sued Royal Caribbean in a civil case that’s nonetheless ongoing.
