H.E.R. Drops Reggae Track ‘Do to Me’

H.E.R. brings the summer season vibes along with her new single “Do to Me.”

Over a nostalgic reggae groove, which borrows from Chaka Demus & Pliers’ “Homicide She Wrote,” the Grammy-winning songstress serenades her lover. “I like the best way you contact me, maintain me, make me wanna sing / Drive me loopy with every part,” sings H.E.R. “Do to me, do to me, do to me, do to me, yeah.”

“Do to Me” follows “I Can’t Breathe,” which she launched on Juneteeth in response to the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and different Black lives misplaced to police brutality. She carried out the track throughout the The Roots Picnic final month.
