REPORTEDLY: JAY-Z Turned Down 2018 Super Bowl Super Bowl LII Halftime Show In Minneapolis!

Written by on September 20, 2017

According to a reports, JAY-Z declined the offer to perform at this football season’s Super Bowl halftime show at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn. This news comes days after the rapper showed support for Colin Kaepernick at the 2017 Meadows Festival and 13 months after Adele said she declined the NFL’s offer to perform at the Super Bowl LI halftime show.

As for whether Jay-Z was offered the gig for February 2018, here is the NFL’s response:

“No decisions have been made on the performer(s) and we are not going to speculate on particular artists,” league spokesman Brian McCarthy told Pro Football Talk. “Along with Pepsi, we know that we will put on a spectacular show. When it is time to announce her name we will do it. Or his name. Or their names.”

Not quite a total denial by the NFL. As for Hov, last week, during a performance at Jay-Z’s first headline concert in three years in  New York City, he dedicated a song to Colin Kaepernick. Jay-Z’s wife, Beyonce, was the halftime performer for Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans in February 2013. Although we’re not 100 if the alleged halftime show snub had anything to do with Kap. But, we’ll probably find out soon enough. Stay tuned ya’ll!
