Sen. David Perdue Takes Racist Jab At Kamala Harris's Name

Republican Sen. David Perdue of Georgia resorted to low cost, racist jokes about Sen. Kamala Harris’s title whereas warming up the group at President Donald Trump’s marketing campaign rally Friday night. 

“Ka-MA-la, KA-ma-la, Kamala-mala-mala. I don’t know, no matter,” Perdue, who’s in a good race for his Senate seat, stated in Macon, Georgia, in accordance with a number of reporters on the rally.

The marketing campaign for Perdue’s opponent, Democrat Jon Ossoff, tweeted out a video of the second.

Because the California senator wrote in her 2019 memoir, her title is pronounced ”‘comma-la,’ just like the punctuation mark. It means ‘lotus flower,’ which is an emblem of significance in Indian tradition. A lotus grows underwater, its flower rising above the floor whereas its roots are planted firmly within the river backside.”

Trump and conservative Republicans, as they did with Barack Obama all through his presidency, pushed racist birther conspiracy theories about Harris simply days after Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden named her as his operating mate.
