Tyrese aired his frustration and heartache over a failed collaboration with Mary J. Blige in a video that quickly caught fire online, pleading with the public to help him connect with the R&B legend after she turned down not one but two songs he crafted specifically for her.
âI tried my best to get Mary J Blige on both songs. âShe passed on it. Itâs okay. I feel a way about it,â the singer-actor said in the clip, his voice heavy with disappointment.
âIâm really hurt. I canât lie,â he continued, explaining that his pain wasnât just about the rejection, but the effort he poured into the music. âLike a mad scientist, I went into the studio, and when I tell you, I customized this song, I made this m########### tailor-made for Mary.â
Despite the rejection, Tyrese still praised Blige as âone of a kindâ but made it clear he was let down.
âIâm disappointed that you didnât do my song,â he added. âBut we got so much equity over all these years, I ainât gonna hold that to you.â
He then turned to the public for help, asking, âYâall can get this message to Mary?â
But the internet wasnât having it.
Several users pushed back, accusing Tyrese of crossing a line. âTyrese Please Go and Take a Nap. Like Seriously Where are Your friends? Come Get Him,â one commenter wrote.
Another added, âGet what message to Mary J? Didnât she tell you ânoâ? Now this is starting to become harassment.â
Others pointed out that this wasnât the first time Tyrese had publicly tried to get Bligeâs attention.
In a previous social media post, he wrote, âCan someone please help me to get a hold and reach Mary J. Blige?â
Calling her his âCapricorn queen,â he said he had been trying to reach her for âtwo weeksâ and didnât have her current contact info. âI have something so very special for us,â he wrote, adding, âOf all the years Iâve been knowing you, Iâve never hit you like this.â
While Tyreseâs admiration for Blige is clear, many online believe itâs time for him to take the hint and move on.
