Van Jones Predicts What Will Happen If Derek Chauvin Isn’t Convicted

Written by on March 30, 2021

CNN commentator Van Jones on Monday warned of a “potential time bomb” for the nation with the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who has pleaded not responsible to homicide and manslaughter costs within the Could 2020 demise of George Floyd.

“Everyone I’m speaking to is … annoyed, retriggered, retraumatized. Seeing that video, seeing the entire contempt for all times,” Jones informed CNN’s Chris Cuomo concerning the first day of Chauvin’s trial, throughout which the complete video of the then-officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds was aired.

“The system is on trial right here,” stated Jones. “If that is thought of authorized conduct from a police officer, if you are able to do this in broad daylight and never go to jail, it is going to be perceived as open season, telling cops from coast to coast you possibly can actually get away with homicide in broad daylight.”
