Written by on August 25, 2021

Together with her debut album, Daybreak, arriving September 10, Yebba reveals the album’s newest single “Boomerang.” The music was written by Yebba with Tommy Brenneck (Sharon Jones &The Dap-Kings, Panic! At The Disco) and Ilsey Juber, and produced by Brenneck and Mark Ronson.

“I wrote ‘Boomerang’ after I first met Mark Ronson” Yebba begins. “It’s a few buddy of mine who was in an extremely poisonous relationship the place, as quickly as she had a child, her husband began beating her. As a result of I’ve by no means been married and I’ve by no means had a child, one of the simplest ways I knew the best way to inform that story was to explain how I really feel after I’m blindsided by a relationship, and the shock that comes with that. I walked into this house in my thoughts the place I discover the one I like in another person’s mattress, and my thoughts goes proper to violence. It’s the type of factor the place you’ve a lot comfortability with rage, you’re capable of assume via it logically—like: ‘If I shoot him within the abdomen, I’m gonna should pay his hospital invoice, so f**okay that. If I shoot him within the head, then I could possibly be convicted of homicide. So what am I imagined to do?’ It finally ends up being an image of working together with your rage, and simply trusting that karma will come again round and maintain issues for you.”

Hearken to the one under.
