Rod Wave Hit With $27M Lawsuit Over “Last Lap” Tour Drama

Written by on 10/01/2025

Rod Wave might be selling out arenas, but behind the scenes, the business is getting messy. The St. Petersburg superstar is being sued for nearly $27 million after a major concert promoter claims he didn’t hold up his end of the deal during his “Last Lap” tour.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, Grizzly Touring says they fronted Rod and his company, Hit House Entertainment, over $20 million in advance money—part of a massive $40.2 million contract for 35 shows. But here’s the issue: Wave allegedly only delivered 26 shows, leaving a giant financial gap and breaking exclusivity rules that were supposed to stop him from launching rival tours.

The promoter says their total investment topped $57 million, but with fewer shows and less revenue, they’re left in the hole. Now, Grizzly is demanding Rod pay up, while also asking the court to block him from booking outside shows until the case is handled.

This isn’t just about money—it’s about the high-stakes game of touring at Rod Wave’s level. Promoters gamble huge amounts on production, marketing, and artist fees, expecting the tour to run smooth. If an artist pulls out or switches lanes, it leaves promoters chasing millions in losses.

Rod, who built his career off pain music and hits like “Rags to Riches,” is still one of the hottest live acts in rap right now. But if this lawsuit goes left, the fallout could put serious restrictions on his future tours.
