Tyler, the Creator Named Apple Music’s Artist Of The Year

Written by on 11/21/2025

Tyler, the Creator just secured one of the biggest honors in music — Apple Music’s Artist of the Year — after delivering what the platform calls the strongest year of his career.

According to Apple, Tyler racked up his highest-ever global plays, listeners, and total hours streamed, with fans around the world logging more than 4.5 billion minutes of listening between November 2024 and October 2025.

Apple Praises a Year of Creativity and Bold Risks

Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director and lead anchor for Apple Music 1, credited Tyler’s relentless innovation.

“Tyler continues to prove that anything is possible and his creativity has been incredible all year,” Lowe said. “His creative risk-taking is only matched by the care he takes to present it. He inspires his peers and fans now, just as he will continue to inspire generations to come.”

Tyler Reacts: “This Was My Biggest Year Yet”

Tyler thanked fans directly in the announcement.

“To everyone who listens to my music, thank you,” he said. “This year, for my career, was the biggest so far. To be this year’s Apple Music Artist of the Year — it’s sick. I appreciate the love and I appreciate the recognition. Please keep supporting folks who are a bit out of the box; it means a lot to us.”

A Dominant, Career-Defining Year

Tyler’s 2025 run has been nothing short of massive. This year alone, he headlined major festivals including Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Osheaga — all while curating the 11th installment of his own festival, Camp Flog Gnaw.

On the music side, he somehow outworked even himself:

  • In late 2024, he dropped his eighth studio album, Chromakopia.

  • Just eight months later, in 2025, he released Don’t Tap the Glass, recorded during the Chromakopia world tour.

The new album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, powered by standout tracks like “Big Poe,” “Ring, Ring, Ring,” and “Sugar on My Tongue.”

With a year this explosive, it’s no surprise Apple crowned Tyler the year’s top artist — and judging by his momentum, he’s nowhere near done.
