A$AP Rocky Named Fashion Icon After Years Of Breaking Style Rules
Written by b87fm on 10/22/2025
A$AP Rocky has officially cemented his place in fashion history. The Harlem-born rapper and style visionary was named the 2025 Fashion Icon by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)—a nod to his undeniable impact on men’s style and his ability to merge Hip-Hop culture with high fashion.
The CFDA will honor Rocky at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards on November 3 at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Presented by Amazon Fashion, the night will celebrate his evolution from streetwear disruptor to global luxury tastemaker.
“A$AP Rocky is a Fashion Icon in the purest form… He is one of a kind… His truly original approach to fashion inspires me, and so many, to think differently,” said CFDA Chairman Thom Browne.

Rocky’s imprint on fashion runs deep. Earlier this year, he made headlines as Ray-Ban’s first-ever Creative Director, dropping a “Blacked Out” reboot of the brand’s Mega Icons line. His PUMA partnership also remains strong, with the Fall/Winter 2025 “Built on Jazz in the Concrete Jungle” collection paying homage to Harlem’s musical roots.

Through AWGE, his creative agency founded in 2014, Rocky has pushed the boundaries of fashion and culture. AWGE’s runway debut at Paris Men’s Fashion Week in 2024—and its powerful 2025 return—cemented his dual role as designer and curator.
As Co-Chair of the 2025 Met Gala, Rocky turned heads in a custom AWGE suit that fused avant-garde tailoring with his signature streetwear DNA. His resume includes campaigns with Gucci, Dior, Bottega Veneta, Moncler, and Calvin Klein, and a buzzy Moncler Genius capsule that merged urban grit with luxury design.
This year’s CFDA honor isn’t just about Rocky’s personal wardrobe. It’s about a cultural shift. His influence has reshaped the way the industry approaches menswear, music, and visual art—bridging worlds that were once considered miles apart.
The 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards go down November 3 in New York City. All eyes will be on Rocky.
