Angel Reese Suspended — But Still Owning the Spotlight

Angel Reese may be sidelined for one game, but the Chi-Town Barbie is still one of the WNBA’s biggest stars on and off the court.
The league hit Reese with a one-game suspension after she picked up her eighth technical foul of the season during Wednesday’s 88-64 Sky win over the Connecticut Sun. The call came after she caught Aaliyah Edwards in the head while battling for position under the basket.
By rule, that eighth tech triggers an automatic suspension — meaning Reese will miss Friday’s matchup against the Indiana Fever. Still, she dropped 18 points and 13 boards before the whistle, adding another double-double to her breakout rookie season.
Coach Tyler Marsh says the Sky will push for a review of the foul, but Reese kept it classy, apologizing to the franchise and clarifying that some of her past comments about the team were “taken out of context.”
Suspension or not, Angel stays trending. From pulling up courtside at Latto shows to sparking $5 million offers from Ice Cube’s BIG3 League, Reese has already stepped into rare air as both an athlete and cultural figure. The LSU champ turned pro baller is proving she’s more than just highlights — she’s a movement.
Friday night, the Sky will be without their star, but expect Angel Reese’s name to stay heavy in the conversation.
