SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Bad Bunny reportedly received a “credible death threat” during his record-breaking residency in San Juan, raising security concerns and prompting federal involvement.
Authorities say the threat surfaced online and that the suspect behind it may have been armed. While it’s unclear if anyone has been taken into custody, both local police and the FBI were present at the venue to safeguard the artist and thousands of fans.
Bad Bunny — born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — just wrapped his 31-show residency, No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí, which ran from July 11 to September 20 at Puerto Rico’s José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum. The residency, hailed as historic, drew massive crowds and cemented the superstar’s cultural impact on the island.
Despite the threat, the shows went on without disruption. Fans quickly took to social media, sharing both concern for Bad Bunny’s safety and admiration for his decision to keep performing.
As of now, neither Bad Bunny nor his management team have released an official statement.
