Beyoncé and WalkGood LA Raise $150K for Jamaica Hurricane Relief with “BreatheGood” Wellness Event

Written by on 11/10/2025

LOS ANGELES — Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD Foundation has teamed up with WalkGood LA, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit, to raise nearly $150,000 for the Jamaica Hurricane Relief Fund. The fundraiser, dubbed “BreatheGood,” took place on November 2 at Kenneth Hahn Park, drawing hundreds of Angelenos for a day centered on community healing and wellness.

Participants joined in guided yoga sessions, meditation circles, and explored an on-site wellness center — all under the California sun. The event marked one of WalkGood LA’s final major initiatives of 2025, blending mindfulness with meaningful philanthropy.

WalkGood LA co-founder Etienne Maurice reflected on the significance of the collaboration, telling USC Annenberg Media, “It’s special because we’re collaborating with BeyGOOD, founded by Beyoncé — and today’s proceeds are going toward our WalkGood Jamaica Hurricane Relief Fund.”

Maurice added, “It shows the power of community and people’s willingness to help. Because we’re of Jamaican heritage, it was imperative for us to step up — to acknowledge those affected and remind them they’re not alone.”

Allana Barefield, Digital Editorial Content Manager for BeyGOOD, spoke to the crowd during the event, saying,

“Beyoncé is so much more than her artistry. Her heart is in giving back. Today we invited our fire-relief grantees and small-business partners to be part of this moment because being good means uplifting those around you.”

When she’s not giving back, Beyoncé continues to make music history. Back in August, Billboard ranked her sixth among the Top Producers of the 21st Century, highlighting how she’s been shaping sound long before her solo superstardom — tracing her influence all the way back to the evolution of Destiny’s Child.
