Cardi B Claps Back at Fan Who Told Her to Quit Social Media: “Don’t Tell Me How to Feel”

Cardi B is not holding her tongue — especially when it comes to being told how to live her life in the public eye.
The Grammy-winning rapper sharply responded to a fan who suggested she should delete her social media and “act like a celebrity” during a recent X Spaces session. A recording of the exchange quickly circulated online, capturing Cardi’s unfiltered reaction.
“I gotta express myself,” Cardi said. “When I express myself, I feel way much better. Let me cope. Talk to me when you’re this famous. Talk to me when you have this type of fame and this type of money.”
She made it clear that outside opinions don’t carry weight unless they come from someone who truly understands the pressures she faces.
“Don’t tell me how to feel,” she added. “You ain’t in my shoes.”
The heated exchange followed days of intense online criticism surrounding Cardi’s relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs. Earlier, she addressed the backlash directly in a lengthy video posted to X, urging critics to ease up.
“Y’all need to calm down,” she said. “Y’all been dragging me for three or four days, and y’all have been a little bit too mean. Like, alright now.”

Cardi pushed back against what she described as unrealistic expectations placed on her personal life, making it clear she’s not interested in living by anyone else’s standards.
“I can’t change nothing. I can’t go back in time,” she said. “I already had a baby. I don’t know what y’all want me to do.”
Despite the criticism, Cardi said she’s focused on moving forward. She and Diggs welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, in November.
The Bronx native also shared that the pressure of upcoming projects has been weighing on her as the new year approaches.
“I have so much work to do once January starts, and that is stressing me out,” she admitted. “I need my support system — my fans — to love me. I want you to come to my tour and enjoy yourself with me. Don’t be dragging me. It’s enough.”
For Cardi B, social media isn’t just a platform — it’s an outlet. And for now, she’s making it clear she’s not logging off for anyone.
