Cardi B Says She Alone Provides for Kids, Offset is a Deadbeat

Cardi B is opening up about motherhood, sacrifice, and holding it down for her family â even if she feels like sheâs doing it all by herself.
In her new Billboard cover story, the Bronx superstar revealed that raising her three kids â daughters Kulture (7), Blossom (11 months), and son Wave (4) â has transformed her into âa real woman.â Cardi shares her children with estranged husband Offset, but says the weight of providing falls on her shoulders.
âI do everything for my kids. Iâm the only provider and you know what? Ainât no complaining about it,â Cardi said. âI love them so much and they ground me.â
Cardi admitted that fame and money donât take away the grind:
âIf you think when you get rich youâre going to stop working, youâre never going to stop working. My mom used to be a cashier and worked every day. I had a rough childhood, but she always made sure we didnât go without â and I want my kids to say the same about me.â
Even while exhausted, Cardi says motherhood is her anchor.
âIt turned me into a real woman. I was like, âWhat makes a woman? Her body? Her cooking?â Itâs her maturity and her thinking. If I didnât have kids, I wouldnât sacrifice so much.â
Despite her rocky marriage to Offset â married in 2017, filed for divorce twice, most recently in July 2024 â Cardi says her focus stays on her childrenâs happiness. She recently threw Kulture a Hello Kitty-themed birthday party followed by a trip to Disney, sharing sweet family moments on Instagram.

For Cardi, music may have made her famous, but being both mom and provider is what truly defines her.
