Cassie Opens Up About Ongoing Trauma Ahead of Diddy’s Sentencing

Written by on 10/01/2025

Sean “Diddy” Combs is just days away from learning his fate in court, and now one of his most prominent accusers — his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura — is speaking out once again.

On Tuesday (Sept. 30), Cassie submitted a powerful letter to Judge Arun Subramanian ahead of Combs’ upcoming sentencing. In it, the singer described the lasting trauma from her decade-long relationship with the Bad Boy Records mogul, detailing the emotional, physical, and sexual abuse she endured.

“The horrors I endured drove me to have thoughts of suicide — ones I almost followed through on, if not for my family’s intervention and urging that I seek professional care,” Cassie wrote.

Cassie explained that she has spent years in therapy and rehab, trying to cope with the scars of what she went through.

Cassie previously testified in court over four intense days, recalling how Combs groomed her into “freak-off” parties, forced her to take drugs, and subjected her to brutal beatings. She described in detail the infamous 2016 Los Angeles hotel incident, as well as countless other moments of abuse throughout their relationship.

Even years after breaking free, Cassie says she still fears Diddy’s influence and the possibility of retaliation.

“I still have nightmares and flashbacks on a regular, everyday basis, and continue to require psychological care to cope with my past,” Cassie wrote. “My worries that Sean Combs or his associates will come after me and my family is my reality… As much progress as I have made in recovering from his abuse, I remain very much afraid of what he is capable of.”

Cassie’s statement comes as a counterbalance to the letters of support that Combs’ legal team has presented to the court in hopes of leniency. Judge Subramanian has already denied Combs’ attempts at a new trial and rejected efforts to overturn his Mann Act convictions.
