DaBaby Sparks Outrage With Controversial “Save Me” Video

DaBaby is back in the headlines — and not for the music alone. The Charlotte rapper dropped a video Tuesday (Sept. 16) for his new track “Save Me”, and it’s already blowing up for all the wrong reasons.
The visual replays a real-life tragedy on Charlotte’s light rail system — the fatal stabbing of 23-year-old Ukrainian immigrant Iryna Zarutska. Security footage from the incident showed Zarutska quietly riding the train before being attacked out of nowhere.
In DaBaby’s version, he rewrites the story: he’s on the train, grabbing the attacker’s hand before the knife makes contact, then calmly walking the man off into the hands of police.
While some might call it a message about stepping up for your community, most viewers aren’t buying it. To many, it feels like DaBaby turned someone’s real-life death into shock value art. The video crossed 400,000 YouTube views within 24 hours — but the backlash is even louder.
One TikToker, 404Breezy, summed up what a lot of people were thinking:
“What in the world made him think it was OK to post that? He made a mockery of her death. This n**ga was acting like he was Jesus or something… playing out the same scene, same scenario, like he’s God or something, and he can stop it.”

As of now, DaBaby hasn’t said a word in response.
