Diddy’s Prison Stay Extended After Alleged Phone Violation Incident

Diddy will remain behind bars longer than expected. The Bad Boy mogul’s prison release date has reportedly been pushed to June 4, 2028, following what officials described as a phone violation incident at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey.
According to PEOPLE, the extension comes just weeks after reports surfaced that Diddy—real name Sean Combs—was allegedly caught drinking homemade alcohol behind bars. The supposed concoction was described as being made from Fanta soda, sugar, and apples, left to ferment for about two weeks.
Initially, prison officials planned to move Combs to a different housing unit following the discovery. However, two inside sources later revealed that the decision was reversed, and Diddy will remain in his current unit for now.
Combs’ legal team quickly fired back, calling the reports false and reckless.
“There have been several false and reckless reports circulating about Mr. Combs,” a representative said in a statement. “He has not violated any prison rules. His sobriety and self-discipline are priorities, and he is taking them seriously.”
The statement added that Combs is currently enrolled in a drug treatment program and working in the chapel library. His team insists that the “phone call” in question was part of a confidential attorney-client conversation, which would not constitute a rule violation.
“This is only his first week at FCI Fort Dix. Unfortunately, rumors will surface throughout his time there,” the spokesperson continued. “We ask the public and the press to give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth, and the grace to move forward in peace.”
Prior to his sentencing, Diddy claimed in a letter that he was “sober for the first time in 25 years.”
Combs was convicted in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and was sentenced in October to 50 months in federal prison, with an original release date set for May 8, 2028.
Now, with the alleged violation on record, the hip-hop icon’s release has been delayed by nearly a month—marking another chapter in a saga that continues to unfold both inside and outside the prison walls.
