Dr. Wendy Osefo Breaks Her Silence After Fraud Arrest

Written by on 10/20/2025

Dr. Wendy Osefo is standing firm in her faith as she faces a storm of legal trouble.

The Real Housewives of Potomac star took to Instagram after being hit with 16 fraud charges, posting a serene photo and writing, “And through it all, GOD remains faithful.” She followed up with,

“Thank you for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers for myself and most importantly my family during this time. We are forever grateful.”

She ended the post by encouraging fans to tune in to Sunday’s new episode of RHOP, making it clear she’s not stepping out of the spotlight just yet.

Osefo and her husband, Edward, were arrested in connection with a 2024 burglary at their home while the family was on vacation. The couple claimed that over $200,000 worth of luxury jewelry, designer clothing, and shoes had been stolen.

But according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, investigators uncovered evidence that contradicted that report. Authorities say more than $20,000 worth of “stolen” items were returned by the couple to the original stores, and images surfaced showing Wendy wearing jewelry after the alleged burglary had occurred.

A rep for the 41-year-old reality star told TMZ that Wendy and Edward are “back home safely with their family and in good spirits” and are “grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans, and colleagues.”

“The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court. At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead,” the rep added.

Shortly after the news broke, Wendy resigned from her faculty position at Wesleyan University, despite initial claims that she had been terminated.

According to a statement, “Dr. Osefo made the voluntary decision to step down from her role. This decision was made independently and communicated directly to the university before any external reports surfaced.”

Wendy has not issued a direct comment on the charges themselves, but her faith-fueled post makes one thing clear—she plans to face the situation head-on.
