Drake Fires Back at A$AP Rocky in “ICEMAN” Snippet

Drake isn’t lawyering up — he’s loading the booth.
The Toronto superstar previewed a scathing new track from his upcoming album “ICEMAN”, taking aim at A$AP Rocky and other critics who’ve taken shots at him in recent months. The snippet marks his first direct musical response since his defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group was dismissed earlier this month.
“Talk about Drake and you get a whole lot / Talk about Drake and you get you some streams,”
Drake spits over a dark, menacing beat.

The verse many fans are dissecting targets Rocky’s ongoing assault trial involving A$AP Relli.
“Man how the f### is your day one gonna testify so you can sit in a box / Either you ain’t never did s### for your brothers or they must’ve forgot.”
Drake’s legal battle with UMG stemmed from Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” which called him a “certified pedophile.” The case was tossed, and critics — including Rocky — accused Drake of taking Hip-Hop disputes out of the culture’s arena.
Rocky told ELLE Magazine that the Drake–Kendrick feud should’ve stayed on wax, calling the lawsuit “counterproductive” to the culture.
Drake appears to be returning to form, using controversy as creative fuel. ICEMAN, his ninth solo album, has been teased by Johnny Manziel for a November release, with early singles including “Which One,” “What Did I Miss?” and “DOG HOUSE.”
A$AP Rocky’s own comments about fractures within A$AP Mob — “I played a father figure for a lot of these guys despite us being close in age” — may have given Drake the perfect lyrical opening.
This is the first significant musical swing Drake has taken since the Kendrick battle wrapped with public consensus leaning toward Compton. Now, all eyes are on ICEMAN — and whether this is just the beginning of another round of lyrical warfare.
