Halle Bailey took the spotlight at Friday’s Game 4 matchup between the LA Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers, delivering her first-ever MLB anthem performance.
The Little Mermaid star, dressed in a floor-length denim skirt paired with a blue Dodgers top, put her own spin on the 100-year-old song. Though she appeared slightly nervous, Bailey hit every note flawlessly, earning applause from fans at the stadium and online.

Her anthem performance comes ahead of the October 24 release of her debut solo album, Love? …or Something Like It. Bailey described the project as “a story of first love, heartbreak, and everything that comes after,” emphasizing how personal the album is to her.
In 2025, she released solo singles “Back and Forth” and “Braveface,” and collaborated with Leon Thomas on “Rather Be Alone” from the deluxe edition of his sophomore album Mutt.

Bailey’s rise as a solo artist began in 2023 with her debut single “Angel,” which earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Song. That same year, she brought Ariel to life in Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid and is set to star in the upcoming romantic comedy Italianna alongside Regé-Jean Page.
Though this is her first solo album, Bailey’s career is already impressive. As one-half of Chloe x Halle, she released The Kids Are Alright (2018) and Ungodly Hour (2020), earning Grammy nominations for Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best New Artist.
With her Dodgers debut and her solo album on the horizon, Halle Bailey continues to prove she’s ready to shine on every stage.
