Jason Kelce Shuts Down Fake Quotes About Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime Show
Written by b87fm on 10/15/2025
Jason Kelce is setting the record straight. The retired Philadelphia Eagles legend and current ESPN analyst took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday (Oct. 14) to address fake quotes circulating online about Bad Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.
Kelce, 37, became the target of viral posts claiming he called the halftime selection “a bad fit for America’s future.” But according to him, those words were never his.
“I normally don’t comment on things like this, but I feel I need to address that there are a number of accounts posting fake quotes and attributing them to me on this platform right now,” he wrote. “I appreciate @X putting community notes on several and I will not address the other accounts specifically, because I do not want to amplify their engagement. But please know, unless you hear something directly from me via one of my platforms, it is not real.”

The false quote spread quickly, fueled in part by conservative backlash to the NFL’s decision to tap Bad Bunny for the 2026 Halftime Show. The Puerto Rican superstar, one of the most streamed artists in the world, has faced criticism over past comments about ICE deportation raids and U.S. tour restrictions. Even Donald Trump weighed in during an interview with Newsmax earlier this month, calling the selection “absolutely ridiculous.”
Bad Bunny is no stranger to the Super Bowl stage. He appeared alongside Shakira and Jennifer Lopez during Super Bowl LIV in 2020, and has since become a global icon — from WWE appearances to SNL hosting gigs to a supporting role in Happy Gilmore 2 with Travis Kelce.
Jason Kelce’s post is the latest reminder of how fast misinformation spreads online — especially when sports, politics, and pop culture collide. The Super Bowl LX Halftime Show is scheduled for February 2026.
