Jeezy Breaks World Record With 101-Piece Orchestra in Las Vegas — “This One’s for the Books… Literally”

Written by on 11/04/2025

Jeezy just made hip-hop history. The Atlanta rap legend, who’s been celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, has officially earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records — and he did it with style.

During his sold-out performance at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Saturday (Nov. 1), Jeezy took the stage backed by a 101-piece orchestra, setting a new record for the largest orchestra ever assembled for a hip-hop concert. Guinness adjudicator Andy Glass was on hand to make it official, presenting Jeezy with the world record live on stage.

The rapper later hit Instagram to share the milestone moment with fans, posting a slick highlight reel and writing,

“It has always been my purpose to motivate and inspire my culture. Thank you to everyone involved for believing in my vision. Couldn’t have done it without you. This one’s for the books… literally.”

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Jeezy added,

“This isn’t just a win for me — it’s a moment for the culture, for music, and for Vegas. Thank you to every musician, every fan, and everyone who believed we could take this all the way.”

The achievement marks a high point in Jeezy’s ongoing TM: 101 anniversary tour, which has seen him performing across the country with the Color of Noize Orchestra, composed by Derrick Hodge and musically directed by Adam Blackstone. Together, they’ve reimagined Jeezy’s classics — from “Standing Ovation” to “Trap or Die” — with cinematic orchestral power.

The anniversary tour has already touched down in Miami, New York, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, and Chicago, and will return to Las Vegas on December 19 and 21 for a special “Nutcracker”-themed residency.

When asked by Big Boy’s Neighborhood whether he considers himself the originator of “trap music,” Jeezy kept it real:

“I feel like this is art. I never looked at Tupac like ‘gangsta music.’ It was bigger than that for me… and I don’t want to be boxed into that. If somebody wants to take the title, that’s on them. But if you really been in the trap, the last thing you want your music to be is trap music.”

From Snowman to symphony, Jeezy’s evolution continues — and now it’s etched in world record history.
