Josh Hart Goes Viral for Wild Prank on Jalen Brunson During Knicks’ NBA Cup Celebration

Written by on 12/17/2025

Josh Hart turned the New York Knicks’ NBA Cup celebration into an instant viral moment after cameras caught him pulling a shocking prank on teammate Jalen Brunson—live on national television.

The incident happened Tuesday night just as Brunson stepped forward to accept the trophy following the Knicks’ 124–113 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Hart crept up from behind and made an unexpected, inappropriate gesture that immediately caught Brunson—and the internet—off guard.

Brunson spun around with a stunned expression as the moment replayed across social media within minutes. Hart, never one to shy away from attention, leaned fully into the chaos. He later posted on X, joking, “Damn in 4k…” before following up with, “It was AI.”

The prank overshadowed what was otherwise a historic night for the franchise. The NBA Cup marked the Knicks’ first trophy in 52 years. OG Anunoby led the way with 28 points and five three-pointers, while Brunson earned tournament MVP honors after finishing with 25 points.

Hart wasn’t done making headlines. Late in the game, cameras also caught him flashing money signs—likely a nod to the $530,933 payout each player earned for winning the tournament.

New York rallied from an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter to seal the win and now sits second in the Eastern Conference with an 18–7 record, reinforcing the idea that this Knicks team is a legitimate contender.

Brunson kept the focus on basketball after the game. “We found a way to win—that’s it,” he said. “That should be our motto the rest of the way.”

Coach Mike Brown echoed the sentiment, adding, “Anytime you can be the last team standing and hang a banner, you take that seriously.”

The Knicks may finally be stacking wins and hardware—but thanks to Josh Hart, they’re also dominating the viral conversation.
