Kendrick Lamar is adding more gold to his trophy case. The Compton superstar just picked up his second Emmy Award this weekend at the Creative Arts Emmys in Los Angeles.
Lamar and his musical director, Tony Russell, won Outstanding Music Direction for his unforgettable 2025 Super Bowl halftime show. This marks Kendrickâs second Emmyâhe first won back in 2022 as part of the all-star Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg halftime performance.
It wasnât just Kendrick making headlines. BeyoncĂ© scored a special Emmy for the jaw-dropping costumes featured in her BeyoncĂ© Bowl concert film on Netflix. And former President Barack Obama picked up his third Emmy as Best Documentary Narrator, beating out Idris Elba, Tom Hanks, and Sir David Attenborough.
Like many winners, Kendrick wasnât at the Peacock Theater to accept his award in person. The Creative Arts Emmys, which shine a spotlight on behind-the-scenes talent, will air in a condensed broadcast on FXX this Saturday.
