Lori Harvey Reveals PCOS, Endometriosis Diagnosis: “I Finally Feel Good In My Body”

Written by on 09/17/2025

Lori Harvey is getting candid about her health. The model and actress revealed she’s been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis, opening up about the long journey it took to finally get answers.

On the SHE MD podcast with Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi and Mary Alice Haney, Harvey shared that her health issues began as a teen. At just 16, she noticed irregular periods, painful cramps, acne, hormonal imbalance, weight fluctuations, and even digestive problems that often left her unable to function.

“I’ve been so frustrated. I kept going to my gynecologist because I knew something was off in my body,” Harvey said. “But every time, I’d hear, ‘You’re fine, nothing’s wrong.’ And I was like, ‘But I don’t feel fine.’”

Her turning point came when she met Dr. Aliabadi, who immediately diagnosed her with both PCOS and endometriosis. “She literally changed my life,” Harvey said.

Harvey admitted doctors often dismissed her pain.

“I used to have the most excruciating periods of my life. I’d take 800 milligrams of Ibuprofen, and nothing worked. People would just say, ‘Take some Tylenol,’ and I felt brushed off.”

Now, Harvey is on Metformin, a medication that helps regulate hormones and insulin levels. She says it’s been a game-changer: “It completely changed my life. My hormones finally feel stable.”

The 27-year-old also stressed how many women silently battle these conditions without proper care or education. “So many of my friends struggle with PCOS, and none of us were really educated on it. We’ve just been living with it untreated.”

Dr. Aliabadi, who cohosts the podcast, praised Harvey for speaking up:

“If someone like Lori can’t get a doctor to listen and diagnose her correctly, what chance do everyday women have?”

For Harvey, the journey has been painful but also freeing.

“I finally feel good in my body—for once,” she said. “This is what I should’ve felt like at 16.”
