Meet Tsunami: The Rapper, Tattoo Artist, and Creative Force Flooding the Scene

Written by on 07/18/2025

When Tsunami steps on the scene, she doesn’t just make waves — she floods it. From her roots in Jacksonville, Florida to her bold presence as an artist, rapper, and entrepreneur, Tsunami is the embodiment of raw talent, resilience, and fearless expression.

Born in Orange Park and raised on the Northside of Jacksonville, Tsunami found her creative spark early on. She attended Ribault High School, where her love for music deepened. Though she had always been involved in chorus, everything shifted in 9th grade when she took a History of Hip Hop class. That one class became the spark that ignited a passion for rap and set the course for her future.

As a child, Tsunami couldn’t stop drawing — on anything and everything. Shoes, notebooks, even furniture. Her world changed when her father was deployed to Afghanistan, stripping away the comforts she had known. But instead of folding, she found escape through art. When her grandfather told her she’d never make it in the real world because she didn’t take life seriously, she chose to create a new world of her own. That choice led her to where she is now — a powerful creator turning pain into tattoos and music that speaks from the soul.

Her journey into music began with a simple school assignment: write a song. Too shy to sing in front of her class, she turned to rap. That moment unlocked a new outlet for her emotions. While others kept journals, she poured her experiences into lyrics and melodies. Though many of those songs never left her notebook, they helped her process life in a way nothing else could.

Being a young, tattooed Black woman in the South comes with judgment — especially in the male-dominated worlds of music and tattooing. But Tsunami doesn’t let that stop her. She knows that being underestimated only adds fuel to her fire. Every time someone doubted her, she worked harder. Now, she’s proving that you don’t have to fit into anyone else’s mold to win.

Tsunami draws inspiration from powerful women like Missy Elliott, MC Lyte, and Rico Nasty — artists who broke barriers while staying true to themselves. Her biggest role model, though, is her grandmother, who showed her how to handle life with grace and grit. Her artistic influences are just as unique — the streets, anime, raw emotion, and what she calls “a little bit of hood fairy dust.”

Her proudest achievement so far? Building herself into a full-blown business. No shortcuts. No cosigns. Every tattoo, every song, every piece of merch is a product of her own hustle. She’s not just an artist — she’s the brand.

Her latest single, Miss Scotty Pimpin, is a fiery anthem packed with confidence and baddie energy. “It’s raw and it’s real,” Tsunami says. “It’s for every woman who needs to remind herself she’s above the drama.”

Outside of music, Tsunami is focused on staying connected to God and honoring the journey that brought her here. She’s also deeply passionate about fashion, tattooing, and exploring new places with the people she loves.

Looking ahead, she’s leveling up across the board. More music. More visuals. More art. She’s expanding her lifestyle brand, Good Girls X Rated, into a full movement — complete with merch, pop-ups, and unapologetic feminine energy. She also plans to take her talents to festivals that merge tattoo culture with live performance.
