Metro Boomin Civil Rape Trial Opens in Los Angeles

Written by on 09/24/2025

Superproducer Metro Boomin appeared in court Tuesday (Sept. 24) as his civil rape trial officially began in Los Angeles. The lawsuit was filed by Vanessa LeMaistre, who alleges the Grammy winner assaulted her in 2016. Metro has denied all claims.

According to court documents, LeMaistre says she confided in Metro about the recent death of her nine-month-old son. She claims he gave her half a Xanax and alcohol before she blacked out, later waking up to find him raping her. She also testified that she became pregnant and later had an abortion, believing Metro was the father. LeMaistre has even alleged his lyrics on “Rap Saved Me” referenced her ordeal.

The trial opened with sharp exchanges between attorneys. LeMaistre’s lawyer told jurors, “He knew that she was unable of consenting.” Metro’s attorney fired back, calling the plaintiff “a woman scorned” and arguing her claims were about revenge after their communication ended. He also told the court Metro will testify, saying the producer has “nothing to hide.”

On the stand, LeMaistre described the effects of mixing Xanax and alcohol as feeling like “anesthesia.” She said she searched the hotel trash for a condom the next morning, left confused, and admitted she once believed rape only meant being attacked by a stranger. She told the court the incident has “completely shattered” her self-esteem.

Proceedings are scheduled to continue Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.
