Minneapolis School Shooting Leaves Two Children Dead, 17 Wounded

Tragedy struck in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning when a gunman opened fire during Mass at Annunciation Catholic School, killing two children, ages eight and 10, and injuring 17 others.
The police chief of Minneapolis, Minnesota, said that of the people injured in the Wednesday morning attack, 14 are children and two are in critical condition. Authorities have not yet discerned a motive for the attack and said the suspected gunman – armed with a rifle, a shotgun and a pistol – took his own life.
“This was a deliberate act of violence against innocent children and worshippers,” said Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara. “The cruelty of firing into a church full of kids is incomprehensible.”
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and President Donald Trump both issued statements of support, asking the public to pray for the victims and families.
Children’s Minnesota Hospital confirmed at least five children are being treated. Community members described the scene as shocking and chaotic during what should have been a normal first week of school.
