Mojo Morgan Carries Forward Legacy with Jamaica Love EP

For Mojo Morgan of the Grammy-winning group Morgan Heritage, music is more than a career — it’s about legacy. As the son of reggae legend Denroy Morgan, he understands both the blessings and challenges of carrying a family name in the industry.
“Our children that have chosen music, we applaud them because it’s not an easy road,” Mojo told Newsweek. “But what we’ve built is second to none, and it’s our job to make sure that it continues until the year 3000 and beyond.”
That mindset fueled his latest solo project, Jamaica Love. The EP blends personal reflection with global messages, touching on themes of healing, perseverance, and unity. While the sound is uniquely his, family remains at the heart of the project, featuring contributions from his brother Gramps, his nephews, and his son.

Mojo calls his style “Rasta Rock” — a fusion of reggae, hip hop, rock, and Americana — rooted in Jamaica’s rich music tradition but shaped by his upbringing in New England. Tracks like Mountain Song showcase that hybrid approach while weaving in generational ties.
The project also carries a deeper emotional weight. Following the passing of his brother Peter “Peetah” Morgan, Mojo returned to Jamaica to reflect and create. Songs like When the Father Calls set the tone with powerful messages on peace, healing, and the human spirit.
“Jamaica Love is about perseverance,” Mojo explains. “It’s about sharing my journey of healing so maybe it can inspire someone else to look at their own.”
More than just an EP, Jamaica Love is Mojo Morgan’s way of carrying his family’s legacy forward while carving out his own voice — rooted in reggae, but expansive enough to embrace the world. Mojo Morgan will join B87fm’s Notorious VOG & JKool on the Inside The dancehall program on Saturday, August 30th.
