Nicki Minaj Announces She’s Done With Music, Blames JAY-Z & Roc Nation

Nicki Minaj has set the internet on fire with a shocking announcement. The rap superstar declared she’s walking away from music entirely — and pointed the finger directly at JAY-Z and Roc Nation.
On Tuesday night (Oct. 14), Minaj took to X to drop the bombshell:
“Ok I’m not going to put out the album anymore. No more music. Hope you’re happy now [JAY-Z]. Bye, Barbz. Love you for life.”
The message came with another major revelation — her 2026 album is officially canceled.
Roc Nation Accusations
Nicki didn’t hold back. She claimed Roc Nation execs tried to patch things up behind the scenes, urging her to tour and release new music, but she refused.
“They came BEGGING the QUEEN for a tour & album & I said NOPE!!!!! LMFAO. Wanted to patch it up. They needed help from the QUEEN & the BARBZ. I called the Barbz on the secret BARB phone & it was a resounding NOOOOOOOO. just like the casinooooooooooooooooooo.”
Minaj also directed a scathing message toward Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, accusing her of serious misconduct and warning JAY-Z not to let her take the fall.
“[JAY-Z] let me find out you gon let Desiree take the fall alone. I don’t blame you. That ugly ass hoe. Btch gon snitch any way. You might as well beat her to it. Conspiracy. False imprisonment. Civil rights violations ???? RUN!!!!!!!!”
This isn’t Minaj’s first clash with Roc Nation. Throughout 2025, she’s repeatedly accused the company of manipulating the music industry through blacklists, social media bots, and backdoor deals. She’s also alleged that JAY-Z personally profited from Tidal without properly compensating her.
Her criticism of Perez has been even sharper — referencing her legal history, slamming her pardon during the Trump era, and calling out Roc Nation’s lack of Black women in leadership roles.
While neither JAY-Z nor Roc Nation has publicly responded to the latest claims, Minaj’s announcement has sent shockwaves through the industry — and left fans wondering if the “Queen” is truly stepping down or simply raising the stakes in a high-profile feud.
