Sherri Shepherd Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Written by on 11/04/2025

Hollywood, CA — Actress, comedian, and talk-show host Sherri Shepherd officially received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, celebrating more than three decades of success in television, film, and live performance.

A Star-Studded Moment

The ceremony took place Monday on Hollywood Boulevard, where Shepherd accepted her star in the Television category surrounded by family, friends, and fans.

“This is for anyone who ever believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself,” she told the crowd. “To my family — thank you for holding my hand on days I couldn’t lift my own.”

Her close friend Niecy Nash-Betts introduced her, saying, “Sherri lights up every room — now she lights up the Walk of Fame.” The emotional tribute featured appearances from longtime collaborators who celebrated Shepherd’s journey from stand-up comedy clubs to national television stardom.

Raised in Chicago, Shepherd once dreamed of seeing her name on Hollywood Boulevard.

“My car used to get repossessed,” she recalled. “I’d ride the bus past these stars and say, ‘One day, I’ll have one.’”

She credited her father’s sacrifices for shaping her work ethic:

“My dad used his tips to pay for my photography class. That’s where I learned discipline — and to chase dreams.”

Today, Shepherd boasts a resume that includes The View, her own syndicated daytime talk show, film roles, and countless stand-up specials — all built on humor, honesty, and hustle.

During her speech, Shepherd reflected on the deeper meaning of the moment:

“When you look at a star on the Walk of Fame, it says to someone, ‘You belong here too.’”

She also highlighted her advocacy for foster care youth and families of children with special needs, dedicating her honor to those who fight unseen battles.

As the crowd cheered, Shepherd closed with her signature motto:

“Do it scared. Sometimes fear just means you’re onto something real.”

With her name now immortalized on the Walk of Fame, Sherri Shepherd’s story shines as a testament to perseverance, faith — and the power of laughter.
