SZA Calls Out the White House’s “Evil and Boring” Rage-Baiting as Administration Doubles Down on ICE Propaganda

Written by on 12/11/2025

The White House’s bizarre habit of hijacking popular music for political flexes has claimed another unwilling artist — and this time, SZA is not letting it slide.

On Wednesday, Dec. 10, after a White House X post featuring her vocals began circulating, the 36-year-old star instantly blasted the administration for what she called calculated “rage baiting.”

“White House rage baiting artists for free promo is PEAK DARK … inhumanity + shock and aw tactics … Evil n Boring,” she posted on X.

The controversial clip used a soundbite of her now-viral “Big Boys” skit-song from her 2022 Saturday Night Live appearance — layered over footage of ICE agents making arrests.

“WE HEARD IT’S CUFFING SZN,” the official @WhiteHouse account wrote. “Bad news for criminal illegal aliens. Great news for America.”

In the original SNL bit, SZA anchors a comedic dating-themed sketch alongside Keke Palmer, Cecily Strong, Ego Nwodim, and Punkie Johnson — which makes the White House’s ICE remix not only tone-deaf but wildly out of context.

As SZA’s pushback exploded online, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson fired back — not by addressing SZA’s criticism, but by using her platform boost to promote ICE even harder.

“Thank you, SZA, for drawing even more attention to the tremendous work America’s ICE officers are doing,” Jackson said, according to ABC 7.

This isn’t an isolated slip-up — it’s becoming a pattern. A messy, desperate one.

Earlier this month, Sabrina Carpenter had her song “Juno” slapped onto an ICE-themed post and immediately called it “evil and disgusting.” The post was eventually deleted. Officials have also quietly scrubbed clips using Olivia Rodrigo’s “All-American Bitch,” Usher’s “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home),” and Beyoncé’s “Freedom” — the latter used during Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign without permission.

The strangest part? The administration has no shortage of artists who actively support Trump — Nicki Minaj among them — yet continues targeting stars who want nothing to do with their politics.

Whether it’s incompetence, chaos marketing, or deliberate trolling, the White House keeps picking fights it can’t win — and SZA just made it clear she’s not here for any of it.
