Ty Dolla $ign Returns With Bold New Album ‘TYCOON’ His First Solo Aalbum In Five Years

Written by on 10/17/2025

Ty Dolla $ign is back and aiming higher than ever. The multi-talented artist officially dropped his fourth studio album, TYCOON, on Friday (October 17) via Atlantic Records.

The title draws from the Japanese word “taikun,” meaning “Great Lord,” and fittingly, the Los Angeles native has crafted a project that reflects ambition, self-belief, and elevation.

“This is for all the people out there working somewhere, maybe a clothing store—whatever you’re doing,” Ty told iHeartRadio. “But you feel like you’re way bigger than that. You just got to go for that, and that’s what I did. My first job was at Subway. I worked there for one day, and I never came back. Now I’m here.”

The album arrives with a stacked lineup of features including Travis Scott, Leon Thomas, Rich The Kid, Tyga, Tory Lanez, Kodak Black, and YG. Kodak and YG team up with Ty on the single “SMILE BODY PRETTY FACE,” a West Coast-infused anthem Ty says came together after a last-minute track swap with Kodak.

“I had this song on my album with Kodak and two weeks ago he was like, ‘Yo, I really want to use this one on my album, bro,’” Ty recalled. “I was pissed at first, but then he blessed me with ‘SMILE BODY PRETTY FACE.’ We ended up touching the beat as well, but even the original beat alone had that West Coast bop.”

TYCOON also features “SHOW ME LOVE,” his latest collaboration with Tory Lanez, released just a week before the album. It marks their first link-up since Lanez’s sentencing in 2023.

“It was amazing to be able to get Tory on the album,” Ty said. “Everybody knows his situation right now, but one thing about me: I never turn my back on my brothers.”

TYCOON is a statement piece—an ambitious, star-studded reminder of Ty Dolla $ign’s place in the culture.
