After dropping back-to-back albums and taking his Chromakopia World Tour across the globe, Tyler, The Creator says he’s ready to hit pause — maybe for good.

While performing in the Philippines on Sunday (Sept. 21), Tyler told fans he was looking forward to heading home and figuring out “if I’ll ever really tour again.”

In a rare moment of reflection, the 34-year-old admitted he’s reached a new chapter in his career:

“I can’t lie to y’all, I’m at that part of my life where, man, I’ve done enough. Let me go take a very, very, very long break.”

He thanked fans for the love throughout the tour, especially in Paris and his hometown of Paris, Texas.

Tyler vs. Podcasts

This isn’t the first time Tyler’s spoken about slowing things down. Over the last year, he’s also aired his frustrations with one of today’s most popular platforms: podcasts.

“If I was president, the first thing I would do is take podcast mics away from ni**as,” he joked in a 2024 Billboard interview. Speaking with The Cut this year, he doubled down, saying too many people with no real knowledge or talent use podcasts just to “be loud and incorrect.”

Instead, Tyler argued, the world needs “more electricians, drummers, painters, teachers,” not “everybody with a mic.” He did give props to shows he respects, like Deante Kyle’s and The Cutting Room Floor.

What’s Next?

Even as he talks about stepping away, Tyler still has a packed schedule. He’s set to headline Camp Flog Gnaw in November, alongside T-Pain, Thundercat, Doechii, Clipse, A$AP Rocky, GloRilla, Earl Sweatshirt, 2 Chainz, and more.

After that, Tyler takes the stage at Lollapalooza Argentina, Chile, and Brazil, plus Estéreo Picnic in Colombia, with additional dates in Costa Rica, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

Whether this is truly the beginning of a long break or just another Tyler curveball, one thing’s clear: he’s leaving on his own terms.
