Tyrese Gibson and Mona Scott-Young Touch Down in Jamaica for Powerful Hurricane Relief Mission

Written by on 11/11/2025

Hollywood met humanity this week as Tyrese Gibson and Mona Scott-Young arrived in Jamaica, bringing not red carpets, but relief. The Fast & Furious star and Love & Hip Hop creator landed on the island Monday, carrying supplies for communities devastated by the recent hurricane.

Videos posted to social media showed the pair unloading essentials from private jets — not luxury items, but humanitarian aid. Their message was clear: this was about service, not celebrity.

“This is not a private jet just for the private jet of it all. This is a humanitarian mission,” said Scott-Young. “We were able to do what we could in a short time… I brought a lot of Starlink with me, and I’m looking forward to helping people reconnect with their families.”

Starlink, the satellite internet service from SpaceX, allows high-speed access even in the most remote areas — a lifeline for many cut off by the storm.

Scott-Young, beaming despite the devastation, paused to take in the island’s spirit. “It’s beautiful out here, as beautiful as I remember it. Y’all know I love Jamaica,” she said.

Tyrese, equally moved, added: “Jamaica, we here baby. We loading up. I’ve always wanted to do this. We know there’s a lot of trauma, and we’re not only here to give — but to give with love attached.”

The singer later reflected online: “The resilience of the Jamaican people on full display.”

Their mission joins a wave of global support for the island, with Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation, Nicki Minaj, Denzel Washington, and DJ Khaled among others pledging aid.

Tyrese also encouraged fans to donate to ROWW.org, the disaster relief foundation created by his late friend Paul Walker.
