Young Thug is walking back harsh words about GloRilla after a leaked jail phone call sparked controversy online.
Earlier this week, audio surfaced of Thugger speaking with his girlfriend, Mariah The Scientist, where he called GloRilla “ugly as f—” while mocking comparisons between her and Rihanna.
On Thursday (Sept. 4), Thug took to X to publicly apologize and clarify his comments:

The apology quickly caught traction with fans, many of whom gave him credit for taking accountability. One fan replied, “Finally a good tweet, this is a step in the right direction.” Another wrote, “They don’t know the struggle of sitting in that box alone.”
Meanwhile, GloRilla seemed to respond with a subliminal tweet of her own, hinting at mixed messages:

This isn’t the first time leaked calls have put Thug in the headlines during his ongoing YSL RICO case. Past recordings allegedly captured him claiming he purchased $50,000 worth of streams for Gunna’s DS4EVER album to debut at No. 1 over The Weeknd’s Dawn FM in 2022.
For now, fans are just watching to see if GloRilla accepts the apology — or keeps the shade coming.
