‘RHOP’ Star Wendy Osefo And Husband Eddie Arrested On Multiple Fraud Charges

“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Wendy Osefo and her husband Eddie Osefo have been arrested in Maryland on multiple fraud charges stemming from an alleged fake burglary scheme.
According to Page Six, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office arrested the couple on Thursday and charged them with insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and making a false statement to police.
Both Wendy and Eddie were taken into custody and later released after posting $50,000 bond each.
The charges arise from a reported burglary in April 2024, during a trip the couple took to Jamaica. The Osefos told police that high-end items — including designer handbags and jewelry — were stolen from their bedroom. But investigators say the story doesn’t add up.
Court documents reveal that one of the diamond rings claimed as stolen was later seen on Wendy’s finger in a social media post after the insurance claim had been filed.
Police allege the Osefos purchased the luxury items, returned them for full refunds, and then falsely reported them as stolen. The alleged break-in scene also raised red flags: a damaged screen was found lying on the roof, but the window beneath it was unlocked and seemingly untouched. Investigators noted that someone would have had to step on a toilet to access the window — but the toilet lid was clean and showed no signs of being used.
Further suspicions were raised by the couple’s ADT home security system and Ring camera, both of which were active and remotely monitored during their vacation. Surveillance footage showed no evidence of a break-in, despite package deliveries and other activity outside the home.
Wendy Osefo is facing 15 charges, including:
-
7 felony counts of providing false or misleading information in a fraud case involving over $300
-
7 misdemeanor counts of the same
-
1 misdemeanor for making a false statement to an officer
Eddie Osefo is facing 18 charges, including:
-
9 felony counts of providing false or misleading information in a fraud case over $300
-
8 misdemeanor counts of the same
-
1 misdemeanor for making a false statement to an officer
As of now, neither Wendy nor Eddie has made a public statement regarding the charges.
