The rapper, born Belcalis Almánzar, said the incident was a heated argument but “didn’t get physical at all.” She alleged Ellis followed and attempted to record her while she was secretly pregnant, prompting a verbal confrontation.
Ellis, who sued in 2020, claims Cardi scratched her face with long nails and spat on her. Cardi maintains she never touched Ellis and will continue testimony Wednesday.
The Grammy winner welcomed her first child, Kulture, later that year and now shares three children with estranged husband Offset.
