ICE To Deploy Agents At Super Bowl LX As Bad Bunny Headlines Halftime Show

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has confirmed plans to deploy agents at Super Bowl LX in 2026, where Bad Bunny is set to headline the halftime show. The move comes after comments from Trump ally Corey Lewandowski, who criticized the NFLâs choice and warned that the government will be cracking down on undocumented immigrants during the event.
Appearing on The Benny Show, Lewandowski declared:
âThere is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else.â
He also slammed the NFLâs decision to tap Bad Bunny for the show, calling it âshamefulâ and insisting there were plenty of other artists who couldâve filled the slot.
âWe will find you. We will apprehend you. We will put you in a detention facility, and we will deport you,â Lewandowski said, doubling down on the administrationâs hardline stance.
ICE echoed the message in its own statement, saying:
âThere is no safe haven for violent criminal illegal aliens in the United States.â
While exact details remain unclear, reports suggest agents will be stationed in Santa Clara, California throughout Super Bowl weekânot just during the game itself.
The controversy adds a heavy political backdrop to what should be one of the biggest cultural stages in the world. Bad Bunny, who has openly criticized ICE in the past, acknowledged the significance of the moment.
âWhat Iâm feeling goes beyond myself. Itâs for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown ⊠this is for my people, my culture and our history,â the Puerto Rican superstar said.
In a statement following the Super Bowl announcement, Bad Bunny said the performance, which is sponsored by Apple Music, is âfor my people, my culture, and our history.”

Bad Bunny spoke about the career moment in an X post, writing, “I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States,â referencing his decision to skip touring the U.S. or his DebĂ Tirar MĂĄs Fotos World Tour due to Trumpâs use of ICE for immigration crackdown.
estuve pensando en estos dĂas, y luego de hablarlo con mi equipo, creo que harĂ© una sola fecha en Estados Unidos.

With one of musicâs biggest global stars set to perform and ICE confirming a presence on the ground, Super Bowl LX is shaping up to be as political as it is cultural.
