Saweetie’s taking her icy flair straight to the NFL. The Bay Area rapper just scored a history-making role as ESPN’s first-ever Monday Night Football music curator — and she’s promising to bring heat to game night all season long.

Fans got their first taste at ESPN’s Red Nail Bar pop-up, where Saweetie showed up with custom “ESPN Red” nails by her longtime nail tech Temeka Jackson, plus plenty of “Saweet” vibes to go around.

“Football was the first sport I ever played in my life,” Saweetie told PEOPLE. “My dad, my uncles, even my grandfather played. Football was probably the first ball I ever touched. So when ESPN asked me, I was honored.”

Making History

Saweetie is the first woman ever to curate MNF’s music — handpicking tracks for ESPN promos, live telecasts, and Monday Night Countdown. She says she’s excited to put fans onto rising talent, and maybe even sneak in a few of her own songs. “I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve,” she teased.

When it comes to her personal game-day anthem? Easy: “Do It for the Bay” with P-Lo, a nod to her 49ers roots.

For Saweetie, it’s bigger than music. Growing up surrounded by athletes, she says football taught her discipline, teamwork, and how to perform under pressure — lessons she still carries into her career.

And her game-day fit? Forget the glam. “Give me sneakers, jeans and a T-shirt,” she laughed. “I wanna be comfortable.”
