William Shatner, the legendary actor best known for playing Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek, was rushed to the hospital Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 25) after a medical emergency, according to TMZ.
Sources say the 94-year-old star experienced issues with his blood sugar at his Los Angeles home. Shatner himself reportedly called for help, and an ambulance from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived as a precaution.
Fortunately, doctors say Shatner is in âgoodâ condition and resting comfortably after being evaluated.
The actor has previously been open about his health battles, including a fight with stage 4 melanoma. In an interview, he revealed doctors once told him he had just months to live if treatment didnât work. Thanks to surgery and immunotherapy, Shatner later declared himself cancer-free.
Shatnerâs resilience has defined his career, which has stretched across eight decades. Beyond his iconic Star Trek role, he made history in 2021 by becoming the oldest person ever to travel to space at age 90 aboard a Blue Origin mission.
